Features
Amberward does one thing: it keeps your proof of purchase and tells you when a warranty is about to end.
Receipts
- Scan a receipt with the document scanner (camera) or choose a photo from your library.
- The photo is resized and stored inside the app on your iPhone, and opens full screen with pinch-to-zoom and double-tap.
- Add several documents to one product: receipts, invoices, order confirmations and certificates, as photos, scans or PDFs. The originals are kept; of a multi-page scan only the first page is kept.
Warranties and deadlines
- Product name, store, purchase date, warranty length, amount and notes.
- The warranty length defaults to 24 months (from 1 to 240 months); the expiry date is calculated for you.
- The list is ordered by nearest expiry. Status is always shown with colour, icon and text: Active, Expiring soon (within 30 days), Expired.
- Search by product name or store.
Reminders
- A local notification 30 days before the warranty ends, at 9:00. If it already ends within 30 days, the reminder arrives the next morning at 9:00. Nothing is scheduled for warranties that have already ended.
- Editing a warranty recalculates its reminder; deleting it cancels it. The app also re-checks reminders whenever you open it.
- The system permission is requested only the first time you save, after a short explanation, and you can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time. The app keeps working normally.
Text recognition
- Apple's Vision framework reads the photo on your iPhone and suggests the purchase date and the total amount.
- It is a suggestion, not a decision: you can correct every field, and if nothing is found the form simply stays empty.
- It understands receipts in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish: day-first, month-first and written-out dates, and amounts with a comma or a point (thousands separated by a space, a point or an apostrophe). If a date can be read two ways, it asks you instead of guessing.
Privacy and offline
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no third-party code. The app sends your data nowhere; its only connection is to the App Store, for the free trial and the purchase.
- Data is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone and may be included in your iOS device backup if you have one turned on.
Price
- Free to download, with a 14-day free trial of every feature.
- Then a single purchase (no subscription) to keep adding and editing products. It works on all your iPhones with the same Apple ID and can be shared with your family.
- Your documents and warranties always stay accessible, even without buying: you can open and delete them, and the reminders already scheduled keep arriving.
Designed for iPhone
- Light and Dark mode, Dynamic Type (larger text), accessibility labels, and an interface in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
- Requires iOS 17 or later.
What it does not do (yet)
- It does not sync between devices and there is no iCloud, account or web version.
- It may not read receipts in other languages or formats; you can always enter the data by hand.
- It does not guarantee backups: that is handled by iOS, if you have it turned on.
